Stephan Andwood Biography

Born in May 1960, Steve grew up in western Massachusetts. He has been working with his hands all his life. In high school he spent all of his time in the art department painting, sculpting, and working with stained glass and pottery. This earned him an award of achievement from the Longmeadow Art Society. After high school he attended a community college majoring in art and in 1979 moved to Truro, Massachusetts. While working in Provincetown he fell in love with the ocean, sunsets, and the scenery of Cape Cod, but most of all he found a love for the artists colony, the studios, and the artists. While living in Truro he did volunteer work at Castle Hill Center For The Arts and in the summer of 1980, worked for Kennedy Studios in Provincetown and continued to work for Kennedy Studios in Boston after moving there. Today he is a member of the Hampden Scantic River Artists and works mainly in oil, painting scenes he grew up to love and admire over the years.

Steve owns a studio condo in Truro, which overlooks the Provincetown sunset he depicts in one of his popular prints sold at Kennedy Studios of Provincetown.
